Wedding & Event Video Awards Move to Aug. 25
May 24, 2003
Sarasota, FL - With expanded new programming slated for the 13th Annual WEVA EXPO (August 25-28, 2003; open to all videographers) the WEVA International Creative Excellence Awards presentation, honoring the wedding and event video industry’s most innovative productions of the year, is being moved forward to the convention’s Opening Night Gala on Monday, August 25, 2003, said WEVA International Chairman Roy Chapman.
“After reviewing extensive input from WEVA International members, the WEVA CEA Presentation, Special Awards of Recognition and WEVA Hall of Fame Awards will, for the first time, be held at the very beginning of WEVA EXPO. The presentation will begin at 9:00 pm, right after the 2003 WEVA Creative Excellence Awards Competition Exhibition and complimentary dinner reception, sponsored by Sony,” Chapman said.
“Wedding & Event Video Expo attendees have always looked forward to the annual WEVA Awards Presentation,” noted Steve Wernick, the emcee of the 2002 Awards Presentation. “Having this special EXPO-wide event on Monday evening will allow more people to participate than ever before, and will also enable WEVA EXPO attendees to plan their seminar schedule based on the current award winners.” The WEVA Creative Excellence Awards Competition is open to all videographers worldwide. The official 2003 entry form for the 12 wedding and event video competition categories is downloadable at www.weva.com. Deadline for all entries is 5pm June 20, 2003.
Preparing to announce the WEVA EXPO 2003 program line-up, EXPO Director Tim Ryan noted, “We are very excited about the extensive programming scheduled for WEVA EXPO 2003! Wedding and event videographers will be able to choose from an outstanding selection of creative, technical and business seminars, workshops, and panel discussions. What is particularly exciting is WEVA’s all-new ‘Battle of the Videographers’ series, featuring the industry’s first-ever ‘Love Story Shoot-Out.’ This year’s WEVA EXPO Trade Show will be packed with larger and more extensive hands-on exhibits, too, featuring the newest DV, DVD, NLE and HD technology for professional videographers. In addition, many exhibitors will be offering EXPO-only discounts.”
