Call for Nominations - WEVA 2007 Special Awards of Recognition

Sarasota, FL - Every year the Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA) honors exceptional business achievements and service to our industry with the announcement of the WEVA Special Awards of Industry Recognition. This year, all nominations must be submitted by June 5, 2007.
Local Outreach Launched
"We are excited about the 2007 nominations process because we will also be seeking direct input from local associations across the country," said WEVA Special Awards Committee Chairman Ken Kurita. "If the Special Awards honoree is a member of a local association, it will give the Committee the opportunity to officially recognize the importance that local associations often play in the achievements of their individual members."
Kurita noted the leadership of local associations will be contacted by the Special Awards Committee to give local leaders an opportunity to bring the accomplishments of individual members to the Committee's attention.

The 2007 WEVA Special Awards of Industry Recognition will be announced and presented on Monday evening, August 13 in glittering ballroom of the world-famous Paris Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas, NV at the Opening Night Gala of the WEVA 17th Annual Wedding & Event Expo.
The Awards Night celebration will begin with complimentary dinner for EXPO attendees and will also feature the announcement of the WEVA 17th Annual Creative Excellence Awards, and screening of the award winning wedding and event videos. "It's going to be an exciting, fun and fast-paced evening that gives us all a chance to celebrate achievements of fellow videographers worldwide," said Kurita. The time to submit nominations for Special Awards of Industry Recognition is now."
There are five WEVA Special Awards categories, listed below. They are hotlinked to their individual descriptions and 2007 Nomination Form. Click on each separate Special Award to submit your nominations for 2007.

The WEVA Special Awards Committee reviews all nominations, conducts additional research, and finalizes selections through a collective decision-making process. In addition to Kurita, the 2007 committee include, Joyce Bertolami, Monica Crafts, Daniel Krieger, and Henry Mares.
“WEVA Special Awards honorees are recognized for their singular achievements,” Kurita said. “But these individuals also share something in common. It’s that they have demonstrated, by being recognized by their peers in the nominations process, that they have given us the gift of their energy, inspiration, enthusiasm, and hard work to make our craft the thing we love to do.”
