Avid to Preview HDV Release of Avid Xpress Pro HD at WEVA EXPO 2005; Free System Training On-Site

Sarasota, FL - At the WEVA 15th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo 2005 (August 8-11), Avid, a Platinum Show Sponsor, will showcase a pre-release version of its Avid Xpress® Pro HD system with HDV functionality in WEVA EXPO exhibit booth #311.
This new version will support all of the Sony and JVC implementations of HDV and will allow wedding and event videographers to mix HDV with other formats they are already using – such as DV25, DV50, DVCPRO HD and uncompressed SD – in real-time without rendering.
Avid’s demonstrations and on-site system training sessions will show how specific features in the state-of-the-art Avid Xpress Pro HD system allow WEVA professionals to work better and faster, including: real-time, multi-format multicam; automatic color correction for multiple clips; image stabilization with auto-zoom; titling power with Avid Marquee and Avid FX; pan and zoom of oversized images; and real-time animated alpha channel support.
To give WEVA attendees the opportunity to experience these new features for themselves, Avid will be conducting free system training sessions for WEVA attendees on the WEVA show floor. Seating will be limited, so attendees are advised to sign-up early on-site to reserve their spot for free training. Admission to WEVA EXPO 2005 is open to both WEVA members and non-members.
For Macintosh owners, Avid will also be showing a pre-release version of Avid Xpress Pro for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). This version, which has been optimized for the Mac platform, includes many new features, including Avid Marquee for Mac. “This is a very important milestone…it was worth the wait,” said Gary Bettan of VideoGuys.com. “Avid didn’t just make Avid Xpress Pro run on Tiger – they are tapping into some of the core performance capabilities of Tiger.”
Avid will also be running a number of WEVA EXPO 2005 Trade Show specials featuring special discounts to WEVA EXPO 2005 attendees. The WEVA Show Specials will include:
